Lucknow. From the heart of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, from the largest state governed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and from Lucknow, the parliamentary constituency of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh — the city known worldwide for its tehzeeb, tameez and Ganga-Jamuni culture — a strong and moral national voice rose in favour of peace, justice and humanity.
At the Uttar Pradesh Press Club, Lucknow, a historic press conference was organised under the banner of ‘Aman Va Insaaf Andolan’ to formally launch the National Peace Campaign. The event sent a clear and powerful message to the nation and the world that India stands not for war, hatred or domination, but for peace, justice and human values.
The conference was held under the patronage of India’s Supreme Religious Authority, Aftab-e-Shariat Maulana Dr Kalbe Jawad Naqvi, elevating the event from a routine press briefing to a voice of national conscience and global moral responsibility.
Historic Unity of Religious Leaders for Peace and Brotherhood
Held on the theme “Support for Peace and Brotherhood, Opposition to Oppression and Injustice,” the press conference witnessed the participation of eminent religious, social and intellectual figures, including:
Maulana Syed Kalbe Jawad Naqvi, General Secretary, Majlis Ulema-e-Hind
Maulana Syed Safi Haider Zaidi, Secretary, Tanzeem-ul-Makateb
Renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Jahangir Alam Qasmi
Maulana Raza Hussain Rizvi
Shiraz-e-Hind Maulana Safdar Hussain Jaunpuri
Maulana Kazim Mehdi Urooj Jaunpuri
Maulana Adil Faraz Naqvi
and social activist Ehsan Ahmed from Okhla, Delhi
All speakers unanimously expressed grave concern over the growing culture of war, imperialistic interventions and the double standards practiced in the name of international justice.
“India Stands for Peace, Not for War”
Opening the press conference, Rehbar-e-Hind Maulana Syed Safi Haider Zaidi stated that the soul of India lies in peace, coexistence and dialogue. He said that historically, India has never supported aggression but has always stood for harmony and restraint.
“At a time when the world is being deliberately pushed towards conflict and violence, it becomes even more important that a message of peace goes out from India,” he said.
He announced that under the banner of Aman Va Insaaf Andolan, a nationwide National Peace Campaign would be launched, including signature campaigns, peaceful assemblies, seminars, national conferences and sustained social media outreach against injustice and aggressive global policies.
Threats Against Iran: A Serious Danger to Global Peace
Addressing the gathering, Maulana Dr Kalbe Jawad Naqvi described the current global situation as extremely alarming. He warned that certain global powers are attempting to subdue weaker nations through war, intimidation and political pressure.
He pointed out that after the devastation of Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Libya, Iran is now being targeted. Threats of abduction and assassination against Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, he said, are not merely an attack on one country but an assault on international law, national sovereignty and humanity itself.
Maulana Naqvi stated firmly:
“Any aggression against Iranian leadership or sacred religious sites will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”
He cautioned that any attack on religious leadership or holy places in Iran or Iraq would have far-reaching consequences and lead to serious global instability.
Sharp Questions on the Role of the Media
Maulana Kalbe Jawad Naqvi also raised serious concerns about the conduct of a section of the media. He said the duty of the media is not to act as a mouthpiece of power, but to stand with truth and justice.
Blindly repeating the narratives of the United States and Israel, and branding voices of justice as “terrorists,” he said, is not journalism but intellectual and ideological slavery.
He strongly criticised media silence over the killing of journalists in Gaza, the massacre of innocent civilians in Palestine, and the deaths of children, calling such silence deeply shameful.
Condemn Injustice Wherever It Occurs
Global religious figure Maulana Jahangir Alam Qasmi stated that injustice must be condemned wherever it occurs — whether against the Shia community in Pakistan or innocent civilians in Palestine.
He said that the United States and Israel have become major drivers of global instability and violence, and as long as such forces remain unchecked, lasting peace in the world will remain a distant dream.
Hope from India, A Message for Humanity
The speakers welcomed India’s stance in support of Iran at the United Nations and appealed to the Government of India to remain firmly committed to its historic, moral and humanitarian position in favour of Palestine and Iran.
A Voice from Lucknow: Warning, Resolve and Message
What rose from Lucknow — the city of culture and civility — was not just a press conference.
It was a warning,
a national resolve,
and a message to the conscience of the world.
If we do not stand against injustice today,
we may lose the right to demand justice tomorrow.
The voice of peace rising from Lucknow is now engaging not only the nation, but the global conscience.
