Lucknow ,30 November
A Day India Will Never Forget
There are moments that shake history,
days that silence cities,
and losses that pierce the heart of a nation.
Major General Syed Taqi Abbas Rizvi, an exceptional officer of the Army Service Corps (ASC),
passed away on Saturday at 11:25 AM at Command Hospital Lucknow,
after a fierce two–month battle against Acute Severe Necrotizing Pancreatitis —
a deadly condition that destroys the pancreas and shuts down vital organs.
Despite advanced medical efforts and thousands of prayers,
the brave heart stopped beating.
And at that moment,
Lucknow cried… Ayodhya trembled… and India fell silent.
A Scene That Will Live in History
On the night of 29 November, the spiritually majestic and historically honoured
Imambara Ghufran Ma’ab, Lucknow,
transformed into a sea of tears.
It is the same sacred ground where some of the nation’s greatest scholars, leaders, thinkers, and loyal servants rest in peace.
And now, this land embraced another hero.
Wrapped in the Indian Tricolour,
carried respectfully on the shoulders of soldiers and loved ones,
Major General Rizvi’s coffin was laid to rest.
As Army personnel presented the Guard of Honour,
the sound of boots, the echo of the salute,
and the trembling silence of thousands created history.
The air cracked with emotion when the crowd whispered:
“Salute to the true son of India…”
Tears flowed like rain,
voices choked with grief,
and the city of Lucknow stood still.
Ayodhya and Lucknow — Two Hearts Broken Together
Born in Sibar village of Ayodhya, the sacred birthplace of Maryada Purshottam Ram,
and serving in Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s constituency Lucknow,
Major General Rizvi represented the beautiful union of faith, sacrifice, duty, and nationhood.
Yesterday, Ayodhya mourned its warrior,
Lucknow bowed its head in honour,
and India wept with pride and pain.
Farewell in the Spirit of Karbala
In an unforgettable moment of spiritual power and emotional depth —
He was farewelled with Majlis, Matam and remembrance of the martyrs of Karbala.
The sound of “Ya Hussain!”
mixed with the echo of “Salute!”
became a symphony of grief and honour.
It was as if
sacrifice in Karbala and sacrifice for the nation met in one heart–shaking moment.
He left this world
as a soldier of India,
and a mourner of Imam Hussain (a.s.).
A Family Broken, A Nation Holding Its Breath
He was the pride of his late father
Syed Mohammad Anees Rizvi,
a shining victory of his dreams.
His mother Malka Khala,
collapsed beside the coffin, crying:
“My son… you left before me…”
His beloved wife Nishat Bano,
who stood by him through every battle, whispered:
“Without you, this home is just bricks and silence…”
His young daughter Gul Zehra sobbed:
“Baba, I need you…”
His son Jari Abbas, a soldier’s son now forced to become a man,
saluted and said:
“I will be the support now… I promise, Baba.”
His sisters cried through the night:
“We will miss you, brother…”
Every tear became part of history.

for the eternal peace of his noble soul.
A Nation Questions: Was the System Enough?
A storm of concern rises across the country:
If a Major General could not be saved, what hope remains for ordinary soldiers and their families?
Is military medical care failing those who defend our borders?
SALUTE
Major General Syed Taqi Abbas Rizvi,
you did not die — you ascended into eternity.
Heroes never fall — they rise into history.
Every wave of the Tricolour will whisper your name.
Every heartbeat of this nation will remember your sacrifice.
May Almighty grant him Jannat–ul–Firdaus
and give strength and patience to his grieving family.
Ameen.
SALUTE TO THE HERO
You left, and the sky dimmed,
The winds froze,
Ayodhya cried, Lucknow wept,
But India will remember you forever.
